Finally, a place to park my car.

Last week, my husband and father-in-law had the ultimate father/son bonding experience. They built a garage that is bigger than our house. Well, maybe not quite, but the thing is massive. A year ago, Ryan got the garage bug and has been unable to focus on anything else ever since. And who can blame him? Isn’t the garage the epitome of manliness? I mean, what guy doesn’t want a gigantic garage that can hold more vehicles than you even own?

I’m not going to lie, I’ve had dreams of my own. Dreams of converting our cluttered tuckunder garage/basement into a crafty wonderland… and I plan to print out a list of things that Ryan can make for me now that he finally has a place to store and use all of his tools – one of his major “reasons” for wanting to build the garage.

I did my best to document the process from start to (sort-of) finish and dumped all of the photos into an imovie “theme.” The result was a sort of stop-motion video which you can find here. I had the pleasure of using Youtube’s Audioswap feature for the first time, which gives you the option of letting the robots that control Youtube randomly pick a song for you that they think will fit your video. The result is… well you have to watch it and see.

The garage doesn’t have any doors on it yet and still needs a lot of work; as you can see in the photo there is no siding, insulation, drywall or electricity. But it’s still pretty exciting! Once it’s completely done I have a feeling I will never see my husband again…

Building a garage is quite the political statement, apparently!

Why is there an icon of a poop monster in my previous comment!?

I know, right? People are dying and here we are building a garage.

PS. you are a poop monster. That’s why.
